Familia!
I don`t have much time to write today! We played the most insane game of basketball (not really... everyone is 4 feet tall and can`t really shoot. One girl called a double dribble a double dip. hahahaha) and volleyball and frisbee. It was so hot and so fun! And then we had lunch and we are running all around to get things done. Ah. My brain is everywhere today... tranquila. Hermana Stephens is the best. She is so pilas and so smart and so kind. She thinks I am funny. She is funny. We get along super good.
We are teaching someone named Rudy and he is the best. He is making such amazing progress. He had stopped smoking, stopped drinking alcohol, and stopped drinking coffee. He comes to every single activity and he loves the church. He is way smart and loves reading the scriptures. We put his baptismal date a couple weeks ago for this Saturday the 8th and he is so serious about it. His family gave him coffee and he told them that he doesn´t drink it. They all started freaking out and ranting about the Mormons and so he just took the cup to not offend them. Then by a miracle Heavenly Father made someone call right at that moment so he went outside to answer it, took advantage of the opportunity, and dumped all the coffee out. He is awesome. Pray that he can keep leaving these habits behind and progress for Saturday.
Alex and his family are so close to this baptism!!! Pray pray pray for them.
This week we were walking down the street and saw a girl sitting on the curb. Last time we talked to someone sitting on that curb she just looked at us and walked 15 feet away and sat down again so we couldn´t talk to her. Hna Stephens and I just laughed and laughed. But I wanted to try again on this curb. So I talked to her and invited her to mutual. She came. She loved it. She is reading the Book of Mormon. She came to noche de hermanamiento. She came to church... she is a miracle! Heavenly Father blesses us when we follow the Spirit and talk to everyone! It is the best :)
19 For the anatural bman is an cenemy to God, and has been from the dfall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he eyields to the enticings of the fHoly Spirit, and gputteth off the hnatural man and becometh a isaint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a jchild, ksubmissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.
20 And moreover, I say unto you, that the time shall come when the aknowledge of a bSavior shall spread throughout cevery nation, kindred, tongue, and people...
24 And thus saith the Lord: They shall stand as a bright testimony against this people, at the judgment day; whereof they shall be judged, every man according to his aworks, whether they be good, or whether they be evil.
This gospel changes people. It changes those we teach. It changes those we meet and talk with. And more importantly. it changes us. So that we can stand spotless before God, and our works can be counted as good. Claudia made a comment in Gospel Principles that hit me super hard.. she said ¨If we each just talked to one person about God, shared with them what we know and believe, we could change the world.¨ We are changing the world.
I testify that the Savior lives. I love Him. I come to know Him better and better every single day. I love reading the Book of Mormon. Those pages are so precious to me. Just looking at that book gives me hope and peace. Every time I read from its page, I feel the Spirit. Studying it is a sacred experience for me. I love this gospel. I love being a missionary. I love being SO tired and somehow working harder and harder every day. Miracles. Love. Learning. It is all the best.
Have the best week ever! Les amo muchÃsimo!
