| This is called a pila. That is how a lot of people with semi-functional houses wash clothes. It is a good work out. My "dent" in my arm starts hurting after a while though.... |

Familia - It never ceases to amazing me how many things happen each week on the mission. SO many things! The Lord blesses us all day, every day and we are just so happy.
We went and visited a house of menos activos this week that we had never been to before. They come to church sometimes and some of the activties and are super pilas (smart) but just don´t make time for it. Anyway, as we were walking up to their house the mom came out and welcomed us before we turned the corner. As we walked past the 4 dogs chained up she goes ¨These are my dogs. They will kill you.¨ I look over at Hna Call and BURST out laughing. But she was not kidding. For the rest of the lesson I was trying not to look over at the dogs because their looks alone were terrifying. The animals here... they are disgusting. I am so grateful that we don´t have diseased dogs everywhere.
Alex and Denisa are getting married this Saturday. Hallelujah. We are having a Family Night with them tonight so that will be fun. I love them so much and I am so grateful that he has stayed excited about it all after a long time waiting for this wedding to come together. Prayers. We ran into Fred on the road today and he shook our hands and then looked at me and started laughing. He said in english- ¨You just always happy, man.¨ I laughed so hard. Then he said ¨I know why you are always happy, Hermana Migel. It is because you have Christ is your heart. And so you are always smiling and your eyes are always happy.¨ He is so nice. I am happy. I am so so so happy to be in the service of the Lord. I love these people and I love this gospel. There is nothing more important in the entire world. I am so grateful to be here among these people. We are all just doing our best and little by little, we are figuring it out. Fabiola has been visiting other investigators with us and it has been so fun to watch her testimony grow. Since her baptism she has truly just changed. She is so happy and positive and is ruthless about commiting investigators to come to church. She is a rock. I love her and I am so grateful that true conversion changes our hearts, not just our actions. Our desires and intentions all become different.
We met this wonderful couple named Pati and Govani. They have two tiny little girls and are so so so nice. We got into their house and had a great lesson and put a return cita for the next day. We were pumped. So the next day, we had an hour free before our next cita with them but I felt like we should go early. Turned out that only Pati was there because Govani got called into work and had to leave town for the day. But it was perfect. She is super shy and with him there it was hard for us to get her to talk. We asked how she was and she said some random stuff and we chatted for awhile. Then in the middle of the conversation she said that her grandpa had passed away the night before, she had received the call right after we left. We were able to teach all about the temple and families and the promised blessings of obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ. She said she had really been thinking about what she could do to dedicate her life to God and she wants to be baptized in a church as part of that process. Talk about gold! The Spirit testifies of truth. We don´t have to convince her of anything. Heavenly Father will enlighten her mind through her faith and prayers. She is reading the Book of Mormon and is so sweet. Keep praying for her. She asked to see a picture of our family and after I shower her she said ¨You family is happy, aren´t they?¨ I said yes. And she said ¨You can tell.¨ I love my family and I love testifying of the truth of the things which make us happy!
Ashli loved church yesterday and the Gospel Principles class was on the Sabbath Day. We had just taught her about that this past week so she answered every single question perfectly and we were so proud of her. Then we got to her house and she said, ¨I read everything you told me to in the Book of Mormon.¨ She went and got it and then explained every single verse to us and how it perfectly applied to her. I love the Book of Mormon. I cannot describe the power that that precious and sacred record plays in each of our own conversions. It is real.
Remember how a few weeks on Sunday night, we were having a
bit of a rough night. Nobody was home. Nobody wanted to listen and it had been
hours since we sat down in a cita and we stopped and said a prayer together in
the middle of the road. It was getting dark and we were really tired but knew
that Heavenly Father was going to help us find someone that wanted to listen.
When we opened our eyes we both felt like we should knock on one door... Well
that girl we met inside of that door was a miracle. Her name is Claudia. She is
26 and so amazing. We went over to her house and she said that she had been
praying and praying and talking with friends and trying to figure out how to
change her life this year. Right then was when we knocked on her door. I told
her the experience about how finding her was an answer to our prayers and she
just started crying. She said that she knows that this is exactly what Heavenly
Father wants her to do. She will be baptized on the 25th. I love miracles. I
know that Heavenly Father is leading and guiding us always. People are being
prepared all around us and if we work, we will find them.
7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I awill go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no bcommandments unto the children of men, save he shall cprepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.
That does not
mean that the way is prepared right that second. It just means that somehow, in some way, and
in His timing- the way WILL be prepared. And WE will be prepared too. Our
Savior is always with us. He is helping us and loving us every step of the way.
Our obedience is crucial. No matter how hard or long it may seem, we do it
because we know how eternal His purposes are. We are not ¨weary in well doing¨.
but finding joy in every minute of it. I love the gospel and I love my Savior.
I want to do whatever He asks me to. So grateful for all of my blessings and
the opportunity to share this with others! So much more to come... it is all a
process. And worth every step and every minute! Nothing better.
Love you guys so so much! Praying for you every day!
Love - Hermana Jane
