Peace

When I found out I was training.

Taught them how to do these braids and they love it! She is adorable.

This delicious 3 flavor drink that I love called a Congo.

El Mirador. I am in love with this city. I think my heart is growing too attached... as with everything in my life.
(Her mother finds this picture very biographical of Jane! Come what may and love it - to the whole world!)

One of my dearest friends in town.
Hey family-

How´s it going in the good ole USA? Sometimes I forget that that world still exists, and pretty much exists exactly how I left it. I haven´t even been gone that long but when I watch the District videos and other stuff about the States I seriously am in awe of how large the houses are. And that they have cars and lawns and tables and stairs... it truly is so different! This has become my normal and when someone even has 4 plastic stools I am grateful and think they are pretty well off. What a life we live. But the best riches are those from the gospel anyway so it doesn´t matter what kind of stools or chairs or sofas or golden bathtubs you have. As long as we have each other and our testimonies :)

My comp is doing so great. We are loving it here in Huehue. Everyone thinks it is cold and I am just in heaven! It is so gorgeous right now and only rains a little at night. We are almost through the rainy season and winter is coming. Winter AKA gorgeous temperatures all day. But we are grateful for all we have.

So I have our family calendar hanging by my little clothes thing... it is not a dresser or a closet... no idea what to call it. But I get ready there in the mornings too and so I was just standing there brushing my hair when my comp says ¨okay, not going to lie, that freaks me out.¨ I was so confused and thought she was refering to something I was doing while brushing my hair. I looked and saw her pointing to the calendar. She said ¨that woman with those tiny hands... it freaks me out every time I look at it.¨ hahahah I burst out laughing! It is Laura and Paul from last Haloween and I legitimately could not stop laughing for about 5 minutes after that. She is so awesome. Good job Laur.

What a life :) I am so grateful for the blessings of the gospel. I have realized that one of the greatest blessings we have from the Gospel is Peace. True and lasting peace. The kind you can feel on the inside that makes all the worries and pains and struggles a little bit easier to bear. When we have that peace in our hearts, it doesn´t matter what trials and struggles come, we are able to endure them well. I am learning how deeply each person in this world desires that little speck of peace and hope in this crazy world. No matter who we teach, where they are from, or what they are doing, they are all caught up in things of the world that burden them down and cause them to abide in this state of uneasiness. Perhaps for some it is a desire for material wealth and riches that they do not have, while for another it may be some pan and frijoles for dinner. Whatever it is, there are very few that have peace, or rest from these worries. And I just want to help them breath and relax and realize that they have a Father, literally a Father in Heaven that is watching over them and taking care of them. Elder Cook´s talk from May 2013 Conference helped me realize how missionary work is a work of spreading peace-

¨The heavenly aspiration of good people everywhere has and always will be for peace in the world. We must never give up on achieving this goal. But, President Joseph F. Smith taught, “There never can come to the world that spirit of peace and love … until mankind will receive God’s truth and God’s message … , and acknowledge his power and authority which is divine.”
We earnestly hope and pray for universal peace, but it is as individuals and families that we achieve the kind of peace that is the promised reward of righteousness. This peace is a promised gift of the Savior’s mission and atoning sacrifice.¨
The Atonement is the message of peace that they need. And we have been so abundantely blessed with a knowledge of that infinite and eternal source of peace and power. As soon as they come to understand the role of the Savior in their lives, they stop worrying so much. They are able to cast their burdens at His feet and feel of His peace. How I love delivering this message to all the world. How grateful I am for the opportunity to help one person, and one family at a time to build a home centered on Jesus Christ and find a little more peace along the way.

In Elder Richard G. Scott´s talk ¨For Peace at Home¨ he tells us how-
¨In the premortal life you proved to be valiant, obedient, and pure. There you worked hard to develop talents and capacities to prepare yourselves to face mortality with courage, dignity, honor, and success. Not long ago you came to mortality with all of those magnificent capacities and endless possibilities.¨

It was so powerful for me to think that just 20 years ago I was living with my Father in Heaven, learning and preparing and getting ready to come down to this earth and fulfill my part of the plan. Everything I did there was in preparation for me to be here. Right here. And right now. Wow. And all that I am doing now is in preparation to help me return to my Father in Heaven. There is so much more to this life than what we can see! The gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth in it´s fullest and most perfect form. Truly we need not search anymore. We have all the answers and all the solutions to this world´s problems. We have the source of endless and eternal peace. I love the words found in John 14:

26 But the aComforterwhich is the bHoly Ghost, whom the Father will send in my cname, he shall dteach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 aPeace I leave with you, my bpeace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be ctroubled, neither let it be afraid.
He left His peace with us by leaving the Comforter. We need not be afraid as long as we live worthy of the Spirit, repent when we lack it´s companionship, and strive to follow those frequent but quiet promptings. If we can obey, if we can be faithful and keep pushing foward with that perfect brightness of hope¨ we will never be left comfortless. We need not be afraid. And we will have peace. The Savior Jesus Christ lives. Just knowing that speaks unexpressable amounts of peace to my soul. All will be made right in the end. All we need to do is hold on a little longer, and try a little harder to be a little better. The Book of Mormon is a fountain of peace. Those words are precious to me. Mana to my soul. I love feasting on the words of Christ and depend on them to tell me all things which I should do. I am a humble follower of Jesus Christ, and just desire to do His will. And I could not be more happier doing it:)

All my love. Always and always. I adore my family!
